The “Structural Numerical Research Center” provides numerous numerical models to assist scientists and researchers all over the world. For last 13 years, we have always aimed to improve engineering knowledge and develop the findings. Today, pile foundations are widely used in weak soils to support superstructures. Therefore, predicting bearing capacity of piles is still attracting interests of geotechnical researchers. Also modeling the behavior of soil (considering pile interaction) has always had certain complexities. One of the major problems that may violate the design assumptions is the executions errors that we have examined some of them in this video tutorial.
This product (ABAQUS Video Tutorial; Pile Bearing Capacity) is not based on a laboratory sample. But the assumptions of simulation are same as researchers input data for measuring soil and pile behavior. The length of the problem’s pile is 60 meters and the soil has three different layers (CL =22.5 meters, SP-SC=19 meters and CM= 28.5 meters). During modeling process, Characteristics of each layer has defined and assigned separately in the software.
