The “Structural Numerical Research Center” provides numerous numerical models to assist scientists and researchers all over the world. For last 13 years, we have always aimed to improve engineering knowledge and develop the findings. Modeling the behavior of concrete structures has always had certain complexities. Modeling technique for beams, columns and in general every reinforced concrete member has the same generalities and completely different details. Therefore, concrete members require accurate definition of material behavior, loading condition and mesh technique, etc.
This product (Direct Pullout Test of Steel Rebar) is not based on a laboratory sample and it does not have tutorial video. Model evaluation shows that, the method which many researchers use to simulate the behavior of such members using cohesive contact behavior. As you know, the Abaqus material library provided three methods to simulate concrete behavior;
1- Concrete smeared cracking.
2- Cracking model for concrete.
3- Concrete damaged plasticity.
All three methods have unique features which should choose by the user based on the problem conditions. In this model, we considered “Concrete damaged plasticity method” to simulate the behavior of concrete beam. So that, mechanical behavior of concrete material is a continuum, plasticity-based and damage model.
The main two failure mechanisms are assumed for tensile cracking and compressive crushing of concrete material and has been carefully applied through modeling prosses. Tension and pressure relationships will be presented to you in the form of an Excel file according to the attached images.
