Description
UR Masonry Walls Strengthen by Concrete Shotcrete
“Structural Numerical Research Center” provides numerous numerical models to assist scientists and researchers all over the world. For last 13 years, we have always aimed to improve engineering knowledge and develop the findings. Masonry buildings are the most existing buildings in the world, so researchers are always developing their construction and retrofitting methods. One of the most accurate methods for predicting the behavior of these buildings, is their numerical modeling and finite element analysis. And fortunately is possible today using software such as Abaqus.
This Product:
Numerical modeling of masonry wall generally divides into two categories: micro and macro modeling. Masonry wall is a composite member which its behavior composed of three components; brick, mortar and brick-mortar interactions. In modeling by micro method, all components must produce with full modeling details, for this reason, this method has a lot of calculation and modeling cost for the user. In macro modeling, despite the aforementioned problems, the response of the structure is relatively accurate and the user will have doubts in analyzing the results.
Where the overall response of a masonry building is considered to predict, the macro method is suitable to use. But don’t worry, the simplified micro model can replace the micro method.
On this course we’ll teach you the simplified micro method (UR Masonry Walls Strengthen by Concrete Shotcrete) and at the end we will strengthen the wall with concrete shotcrete and rebar. Note that this model is not based on a laboratory sample but the step-by-step tutorial has been used to describe the CDP Criterion for simulating the behavior of masonry members. After this course, you will be able to simulate any type of such problem and extract cracks, forces and displacements. You can watch a summary of our Abaqus video tutorial below. Thank you in advance for subscribing us. You can also find more products about masonry problems at the link. Keep in mind that to increase your modeling knowledge in Abaqus software, the best reference is the software help, along with the tutorials on our website.
