Description
Reinforced Concrete Beam under Concentrated Load using ABAQUS
The “Structural Numerical Research Center” provides numerous numerical models to assist scientists and researchers all over the world. For last 13 years, we have always aimed to improve engineering knowledge and develop the findings. Modeling the behavior of concrete structures has always had certain complexities. The modeling technique for beams, columns and in general every reinforced concrete member has the same generalities and completely different details. Therefore, concrete beam in Abaqus require accurate definition of material behavior, loading condition and mesh technique, etc.
This Product:
This product (Reinforced Concrete Beam under Concentrated Load) is based on a laboratory sample and it does contain tutorial video. The modeling technique used is quite similar to the technique that many researchers use today in finite element analysis of RC beams. As you know, the Abaqus material library provided three methods to simulate concrete behavior;
1- Concrete smeared cracking.
2- Cracking model for concrete.
3- Concrete damaged plasticity.
All three methods have unique features which should choose by the user based on the problem conditions. In this product, we considered “Concrete damaged plasticity method” to simulate the behavior of concrete beam. So that, mechanical behavior of concrete material is a continuum, plasticity-based and damage model.
The main two failure mechanisms are assumed for tensile cracking and compressive crushing of concrete material and has been carefully applied through modeling prosses. After evaluating this product (Reinforced Concrete Beam under Concentrated Load using ABAQUS), you will be able to simulate any type of concrete beam and extract the contour of stresses, strains, forces and displacements.
